Loved the interview. I turned 73 on the 29th of August and still going strong. This economy wiped me out so I'm in the process of starting a business. Actually, if it wasn't for the downshift in the economy, I would have found another reason for doing it. Except for the fact that I've been 'green' since the 60's, failing miserably at foster care of animals, got my first two 'fosters' 9 years ago and they're still with me ;)), Jean and I share a lot of similar traits. As far as anti-aging, I'm a poster girl for that. Anything you can do to stave off aging and feeling as young as you can, go for it. I'm currently starting a blog outlining methods both external and internal to accomplish this. I've tried them all. I was happy to see that Jean has taken responsiblity for her well-being. I started to really learn how to do that when I was entering menopause. That was about 25 years ago, give or take, and my doctor was pushing me to start harmone therapy to avoid heartattacks. At the time I told her I had to research that because I hated putting drugs into my body. I did the research and didn't like what I was reading even though, at that time, they were just beginning to see a correlation between that and cancer. My doctor fought me on it so I fired her. We all know what the final results of that was. Jeeeee, how I do go on. To end this tome, did I say I was a writer, I just wanted to say that I loved the interview and am so glad that I found The Voices of Baby Boomer Women.

Thanks Kathy and Anne-Marie for taking the time to write. I do love my life, even when I don't so much love the age-related physical changes. Kathy, you really do have a lot of living ahead of you. Create the vision and go after it. Anne-Marie - I thought about calling myself 69 years young, but I'm thinking there should be some new word for it because I'm not sure that young is how I want to be identified, you know? I LOVE it that wisdom comes with age and experience. Hmmm... we need a new word.

Thanks again to both of you.

Hi Kathy,

You look terrific. I just turned 55 and after reading your story, I know I have a whole lot of living left in me. I sense you love having the freedom to live your life as you so choose. Good for you.
I'm sure your books offer a great deal of encouragement for women of all ages, not just the ones 50 plus. Books like this gives the young women something to look forward to. We older women haven't forgotten what is what like to be young, and growing older does have it merits!

After reading your truly inspirational profile, Jean, I'd encourage you to describe yourself as "...69 years young!" What a truly compelling life story. Thank you for sharing it!

Warmly,
Kathy
